You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas. Psalm 65:5 (NIV)
This morning at 2 a.m. we drove our almost 17-year old son Jacob to church in town. There he met his mission team who are now in the air to Seattle and then on their way to the Philippines. Yesterday God gave me this verse about the farthest seas. The Philippines seem to be some of the farthest seas from our home in Montana. And that is where my son is headed. So I pray this verse for Jacob and all his team. I exalt Jesus for being our only hope. I claim God’s promise for awesome deeds on their mission trip. I pray they can point others to Jesus, our Savior. And I find comfort knowing that God is with them, even in the farthest seas. Dear Jesus, be now with Jacob, Zane, Morgan, Shay, Carson, Michael, Liz, Sandy, Bill, Cienna, Mattea, and Brooke. Go with them to the farthest seas and do your awesome deeds. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
P.S. And bring them home safely.
