The day before his 13-month birthday, our little Joel took his first continuous steps. With a big smile, he delighted in his new found activity. Still tottering and tumbling, he picked himself up and tried again.
His family all cheered as Joel moved one foot after the other. Oh, how I pray for those little feet to always follow Jesus’ straight and narrow path.
I’m reminded of the song…“Oh, be careful little feet where you go. Oh, be careful little feet where you go. For the Father up above is looking down in love. Oh, be careful little feet where you go.”
Our Daily Bread this week gave me several verses to pray for our baby Joel as he take his first steps. I pray for Joel to always…
- Walk in the Light (Ephesians 5:8)
- Walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25)
- Walk in Love (Ephesians 5:2)
- Walk in Truth (3 John 4)
- Walk in Christ (Colossians 2:6)
And if Joel stumbles, may the Lord give him family and friends to help him up again.
Today’s TEA CUPP: Where are your feet taking you today? Pray for you, your children and loved ones to always follow the steps of Jesus.
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps. 1 Peter 2:21 (NKJV)
For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life. Psalm 56:13 (NIV)
