Three Tasks for me, Three Promises from God

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

One day I was studying this verse and noticed there are three things God is calling me to do. And if I do them, God promises He will do three things also…

God is calling me to…

1) Humble myself (Exalt the Lord, more of Him, less of me)

2) Pray and seek His face (Meet Jesus each day for TEA CUPP time)

3) Turn from my wicked ways (Admit my sins and repent)

If I do these things, God promises to…

1) Hear from heaven (He’ll hear all my TEA CUPP prayers!)

2) Forgive my sin (He’ll wash away all my sins when I admit them)

3) Heal our land (He will heal our forest from fires, our valleys from  flooding, our plains from tornadoes, our farms from drought, our people from despair)

Aren’t those awesome promises!  It makes me want to spend more time with Jesus for My TEA CUPP Prayers, Exalting His Name, Petitioning  Him, and Admitting my sins.  God’s Word promises He will hear my prayers, forgive my sins, and heal our land!  Wow!

As you read through your Bible, keep your eyes out for other call verses with promises attached.  One of the first calls with a promise is found in the Ten Commandments…

(CALL) Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, (PROMISE) that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. Deuteronomy 5:16  (NKJV)

Here are some other calls with promises…

(CALL) But seek the kingdom of God,  (PROMISE) and all these things shall be added to you. Luke 12:31 (NKJV)

(CALL) If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, (PROMISE) him My Father will honor. John 12:26 (NKJV)

(CALL) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (PROMISE) and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

What calls and promises has God shown you in His Word?
