He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Mark 16:15 (NIV)
Twenty years ago today I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Kallie Grace. Today that beautiful girl is flying to Guam to begin her junior year of college. It must be the hardest thing for a parent, to bring children up in God’s Word with Bible verses such as “Go into all the world..” and then to reach that day when those children do what they were taught, and go into all the world. And all we can do is pray. So, I sit down with Jesus for TEA and tell Him my favorite verse for Kallie:
Keep (Kallie) as the apple of Your eye;
Hide (Kallie) under the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 17:8 (NKJV)
I remember the church where Kallie was dedicated as a baby 20 years ago, in Waverly, Iowa. Pastor Mark Gravdahl at Redeemer Lutheran sang a blessing to us at the end of each service, and this is my prayer for Kallie today…
As you go on your way may Christ go with you,
May He go before you to show you the way,
May He go behind you to encourage you,
Above you to watch over,
Beside you to befriend you,
Within you to give you peace.
In Jesus Name I pray for you, dear Kallie.
