Where are the Other Nine???

“He threw Himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him—and he was a Samaritan.” Luke 17:16 (NIV)

What a good example of THANKS for us!  This verse comes from the story of the ten lepers in Luke 17. The lepers were shunned members of society, ones who must have desired more than anything else to be healed and welcomed back into the community. The ten lepers had just been hollering at Jesus, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

Jesus told them to go to the priests and as they were going they were cleaned. But only one remembered to come back and praise God and give Jesus thanks.

“Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?” Luke 17:17  (NIV)

Don’t you think Jesus still asks that today?  Where are the other nine?  WHERE ARE THE OTHER NINE? What have you prayed for recently, and God heard and answered your prayers?  Was it a safe trip home?  Was it a check in the mail?  Was it healing for a loved one?  What blessings has He sent our way before we even asked?  Oh, let us run back to Him and throw ourselves at Jesus’ feet and give Him thanks!

Remember, you can underline verses in your Bible that inspire THANKS to God.  To get you started, here are some of my favorite conversation starters for saying THANKS to God during my TEA CUPP  time with Him…

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 (NKJV)

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV)

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry. 1 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)

“I will give You thanks, for You answered me; You have become my salvation.” Psalm 118:21 (NIV)

“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
His love endures forever.”
Psalm 107:1 (NIV)
