Journaling Petitions

Hear my prayer, O LORD;

let my cry for help come to You.

Do not hide Your face from me

when I am in distress.

Turn Your ear to me;

when I call, answer me quickly.

Psalm 102:1-2  (NIV)

We complete our week of prayer journaling with PETITIONS.  When I pray my PETITIONS to the Lord, I write down a verse like the one above as a conversation starter with Jesus.  Then I record each person and situation that I want to take to Jesus.  By each person’s name I’ll write a short sentence with my prayer request.  By putting pen to paper once again, I know I really prayed, my mind stays focused, and I can look back and see what prayers I prayed.  Using a book mark with a list of names in my Bible helps me remember who I want to lift up to Jesus.  I encourage you to try this today!   Here are some PETITION verses to help you get started…

O LORD, the God who saves me,

day and night I cry out before You.

May my prayer come before You;

turn Your ear to my cry. Psalm88:1-2 (NIV)

Be not far from me, O God;

come quickly, O my God, to help me. Psalm 71:12 (NIV)

May God be gracious to us and bless us

and make His face shine upon us,

That Your ways may be known on earth,

Your salvation among all nations. Psalm 67:1-2 (NIV)
