Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
Over the past several weeks we’ve been exploring My TEA CUPP Prayers and each aspect of the TEA CUPP. Now we find ourselves coming full circle with this verse from Philippians. God calls us to not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and PETITION with THANKSGIVING to present our requests to God. When we’ve finished our petitions, we return once again to thanking God for His blessings, His answers to prayers, and the answers He has promised to send. My TEA CUPP Prayers just keep going full circle, never ending, as we pray without ceasing.
Let’s review again the parts of My TEA CUPP Prayers
T = Thanksgiving
E = Exalt His Name
A = Admit my sins
C = Call for my life
U = Understanding my story
P = Promises (claiming God’s)
P = Petitions (pouring out my heart)
Did you set a time to have your TEA CUPP with Jesus each day? Did you write it down? Did you make it a date? I was so encouraged the other day by a lady at our church. In February I spoke at a women’s tea about My TEA CUPP Prayers. Two months later she took hold of my arm and told me, “I’m having a cup of tea with Jesus every day now.” Hooray for my church friend! Hooray for you! Hooray for Jesus!
