P is for Promises

The first P in My TEA CUPP prayers is for Promises, claiming God’s promises.

Joshua 23:14 (NIV) proclaims, “…you know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.”

God’s promises can be found throughout the Bible, and all are fulfilled! Even in the depressing book of Lamentations, we can find a beautiful promise in verse 3:22-23 (NIV) , “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is His faithfulness.”

I like to claim and pray over a promise each day…a favorite is Mark 10:27 (NIV), “…all things are possible with God.” I pray this promise for friends and family who are facing seemingly impossible situations.

A promise that keeps me going, even when things are going wrong is Philippians 1:6 (NIV), “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.” This promise is also for you.

This week, search for God’s promises as you read your Bible. Underline the promises, claim God’s promises for yourself, and use them as conversation starters when you share your TEA CUPP prayers with Jesus.

Which promises are you claiming this week?
