A is for Admit

It’s the start of a new week.  Hello, everyone!  Are you beginning your new week with a clean slate?  All sins are washed away and you are okay with God?  I don’t know about you, but I like to be clean, inside and out.  Daily I go before the Lord to get scrubbed clean inside.  That’s what this next part of My Tea Cupp Prayers is all about, getting clean.

A is for Admit.  This might be the hardest part of our prayers, where we come before God and admit our sins.  That’s why I like using Bible verses as conversation starters with the Lord. When we use God’s Word, He helps us to confess our sins and He cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Let’s each imagine ourselves as a TEA CUPP, being filled with God’s Word.  Check out this verse from Matthew…

“First clean the inside of the CUP and dish and then the outside also will be clean.”

Matthew 23:26 (NIV)

God wants us to have clean tea cupps when He joins us for tea!  But don’t worry, He will help you scrub them clean!!!

Do you see how one of these verses could be used as a conversation starter with God to admit our sins?

“Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of Your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name’s sake.”

Psalm 79:9 (NIV)

“Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.  I am no longer worthy to be called your son.”

Luke 15:21 (NIV)

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Psalm 51:10 (NIV)

As you read your Bible, be on the lookout for verses that you can pray to admit your sins.  As I pray one of these verses, I ask God to wash me clean and make me new, overflowing with His Holy Spirit. This week I’ll be exploring three types of verses I’ve found to help us admit our sins.  Stay tuned!

Have a blessed, CLEAN day!
