T is for Thanks

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.”

Psalm 100:4 (NIV)

So you’ve been invited to this tea party with God. You’re a bit nervous, not sure what to wear, what to say, how to begin…I like to open my tea time with God as the verse above says…with thanksgiving! The Psalmist says to enter His gates with thanksgiving. And so I commence each day by thanking the Lord for the many blessings He has given me…answered prayers, my family, etc. When I am going through hard times, it is hard to be thankful, but I still make myself do this part!

Why don’t you try it?  Find your favorite verse that says thanks to God and pray it back to Him. Then thank Him for His many blessings.  Here are a few verses to get you started….

Philippians 1:3 (NIV) “I thank my God every time I remember in you.”

Hebrews 12:28 (NIV) “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful..”

Psalm 50:23 (NIV)

“He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me,
and he prepares the way
so that I may show him the salvation of God.”

Enjoy your TEA CUPP with God, and I will keep talking more about thanks this week.
